World Cup Outreach

WORLD CUP OUTREACH

This just happened in Burundi
We praise God for our World Cup screening event. Before showing the match, we began by viewing some short films from the Jesus Film app and discussing them. Nineteen people indicated a decision to accept Jesus Christ. Our team in Burundi will help them grow in their faith so that they may multiply and form small Bible study groups.

Also, we've distributed around 10,000 Jesus Loves You soccer balls for the World Cup. The digital tracking data shows that the QR code is actively being scanned and the videos are being watched in 133 countries.

Tez and his team were responsible for creating the gospel presentation that pops up when the QR code is scanned.

Through this project, we've also made an agreement with another ministry for them to license the design and produce it with their own logo and they will be distributing around 125,000 balls this fall following the World Cup.

The Jesus Loves You ball and Hope ball both use our Jesus Film Project media through embedded NextSteps journeys accessed through a QR code printed on the balls.

KEY ELEMENTS OF A GOSPEL PRESENTATION WITH JESUS FILM PROJECT

At Jesus Film Project, we don't just present a movie, do an altar call, and move on.
Strategic planning is critical to ensuring a new believer is discipled. Before we go into a country to show one of our films, we arrange for the above six elements are set up and prepared for follow-through evangelism.

First, we recruit local churches to help us through every step. Then we ensure we are providing resources in the mother tongue of that people group. We use movies and other visual media since so many languages are illiterate. Every film we produce must provide an accurate representation of Christ, followed by a gospel presentation and invitation. Finally, we want to make sure the new believer is plugged into a local church body and has plenty of resources for them to grow in their faith. This ensures they don't fall away or mix their new faith in Christ with syncretism.

Below is a photo of a recent film showing in Africa where the Northern Lights were dancing above the crowd. It's a beautiful representation of how the JESUS film is bringing light to the Dark Continent because of your generous gifts and prayers.

Thank you for making events like this possible.
